Tour Highlights:
As per tentative predictions, the Amarnath Yatra 2025 is expected to start on 3rd July 2025 and conclude on 9th August 2025. These dates usually begin on the auspicious day of Skandshasthi and end on Shravan Purnima (Raksha Bandhan).
The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) is the official authority responsible for announcing the final dates for:

All pilgrims must register before starting the Amarnath Yatra. You can choose between Online Registration or Offline Registration through designated bank branches.
RFID Cards (Radio Frequency Identification) are mandatory and must be collected from centres in Jammu or Kashmir after biometric authentication.
To ensure safety, every Yatri must undergo a medical check-up and obtain a Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) from a doctor authorized by the SASB.
📌 Note: The CHC is valid only if signed by SASB-authorized doctors. Without it, your registration will be rejected.
Typically, the pilgrimage season begins in June and ends in August, which falls during the Hindu month of Shravan.
First-come, first-served policy applies to both Amarnath Yatra registration and Yatra Permit (YP) issuance. A single Yatra permit is good for just one individual. Pilgrims must finish the registration process in real time through specific bank branches using biometric eKYC authentication.
It typically takes 1-2 days to finish the trek via Baltal. It is recommended that those who are in good health, young, and seeking some adventure during their religious journey take this route. The best route is the Pahalgam to Amarnath Cave Yatra, which is about 47 km from the main Amarnath Cave Site.
Even though the trek passes through mountainous areas, pilgrims of all fitness levels can complete it. But being well-prepared and following safety precautions are crucial.
Along the way, medical camps are erected to offer pilgrims emergency support and basic medical care.
Even though the walk can be physically taxing, young people and the elderly can make the pilgrimage if they prepare properly and exercise caution. It’s best to speak with a healthcare provider before making travel plans.
Travelers who are interested must register using a valid Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) provided by a licensed physician, an Aadhar card, or a valid identity card that was accepted by the government and obtained on or after April 8, 2024. Registration Fee for the Amarnath Yatra: The cost of registration for the Yatra in 2024 is Rs 150 per person.
Along the pilgrimage route, lodging options include guesthouses, tents, and government-run shelters. Additionally, tour operators provide temporary tented accommodations for pilgrims.
The Amarnath Yatra’s duration varies according to the route taken and the local climate. The pilgrimage usually lasts between four and six days.
Depending on the pilgrim’s level of devotion, the trek can be anywhere between 36 and 48 kilometers long. The journey takes three to five days total.
There are several locations along both Amarnath Yatra routes (Pahalgam and Baltal) where one can find langar, or free food.
The best time to do the Amarnath Yatra is during the summer, which runs from June to September. This time of year, temperatures between 15 and 29 degrees Celsius are pleasant. Because of the melted snow, the cave is also accessible during this time.
