Located just below the Kolahoi mountain and upwards of the Lidder Valley, the Kolahoi Glacier is a hanging (hollowed from inside) glacier and extends itself to five kilometers.\r\n\r\nSituated 26 km north of Pahalgam and 16 km from Sonamarg and it lies at an elevation of 4,700 meters or 15,400 feet. It is the source of Lidder River and some melted waters become the famed tributaries of the Sind River. Its water serves Anantnag District\u2019s entire population used for drinking and agricultural purpose. The leftover if any, discharges itself into Jhelum river near Khanabal.\r\n\r\nTourists prefer trekking up to the Kolahoi Glacier, which in itself is a 4-day activity wherein the participants are ensured of exemplary scenic beauty and freshness to stay interested.
