Gurudwara Sant Mela Singh Dastkari Ashram
It was constructed for the sole purpose of spreading the Sikh religion at Jammu. Young children are trained on weapons, martial arts, kirtan etc. Downtrodden families and orphans are given free education and food here. The most notable fact is these very children who received training here are today renowned as Kirtani Jathas or Granthis.
Gurudwara Chhevin Patshahi
Also known as Thara Sahib, at Singhpura village. This was constructed in memory of the occasion when the Sikh Guru, Guru Hargobind Singh visited the village.
Gurudwara Mattan Sahib
This was constructed in memory of the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak, who in 1516 resided here in Mattan. Once a Brahmin named Pandit Brahmdas visited the Guru and boasted about his knowledge. Hearing this, the Guru recited a simple poem to him, telling that apart from the truth of the Gods’ name, all other knowledge was not permanent. Realizing his mistake, the Brahmin converted to Sikhism and constructed this Gurudwara.
